Espionage
Espionage was a planned Team Fortress 2 Classic player versus Player gamemode, akin to Trouble In Terrorist Town, that pits a small team of covert Agents (Blu team) against a larger workforce of office personnel (RED team). Agents must eliminate all enemies while remaining undetected; Red players win by surviving until the round timer expires or by completing class-specific objectives that reduce the clock.
The gamemode itself has been planned or attempted by multiple development teams including Team Fortress 2 Classic, The Espionage Project, and Open Fortress. None of them have fully completed the gamemode.
Overview
Espionage is a round‑based gamemode, Rounds start with a five‑minute timer and a short freeze at round start so Agents can learn their spawn wildcard. Each BLU kill adds one minute to the round timer. Each completed Red objective removes 15 seconds from the timer. When the clock reaches zero, Red wins and dead players respawn as Mercenaries for a short humiliation round.
