Team Fortress: Throwback was a mod attempting to bring Team Fortress Classic to Source in a similar manner and artstyle to Counter-Strike: Source.
Development History
Team Fortress: Throwback was created by Concussion Studios in 2019, under the name Team Fortress Classic: Source. The mod would be developed for a few months, until being put on hiatus whilst the team moved to start a different but similar project now known as Deathmatch Classic: Refragged. At some point during the hiatus, the mod would rebrand to Team Fortress: Throwback, but would not re-enter development until late 2022.
With the dissolution of Concussion Studios in May of 2023, nearly all developers involved with that group split away to form CoaXioN. Team Fortress:Throwback would be exiled in this process and the remaining developers involved with the project would form their own team named Fracture Interactive. The mod would see little development after this point, with the developers throwing around ideas to salvage the project by turning it into a mod themed around Brotherhood of Arms. The team would delete their Discord server and publicly shut down in April of 2024, citing lack of interest and the mod's premise being lackluster.[1]
