Fortress-Life, Not to be confused with Lambda Fortress, is a Team Fortress 2 Sourcemod, lead by Gordon Freakman, that focuses on adding Gordon Freeman to the game as an feature complete 10th class, while adding some small HL2-isms to TF2 itself. Currently the development team is focusing on balancing Freeman and converting TF2 maps to have of their static props into physics props that are usable with the Gravity Gun.

Gameplay

Classes

Outside of the normal 9 base classes this adds Gordon Freeman from Half-Life his own class.

Gordon Freeman

Base health: 100 Armor: 100

Weapons

Currently the mod adds 9 weapons to the game from Half-Life 2 including the:

  • Crowbar
  • Gravity gun
  • 9MM pistol
  • .375 mag
  • SMG (W/ Grenade)
  • Pulse-rifle (W/ Energy Ball)
  • Shotgun
  • Cross bow
  • Grenade

With the exception of the Gravity Gun, which will be usable by all classes in TDM maps, These weapons are currently only available to Gordon Freeman class and are in active balancing phase currently. Gordon Freakman has already stated that the RPG will not be added as they "rely too heavily on the HL2 source and are a mess to integrate", and the Bugbait because "it'd be mostly useless in TF2".

Maps

Along with maps from live TF2, there are also phys props versions of maps. The maps that are currently playable with functioning phys props are CTF_2fort, KOTH_Sawmill, KOTH_Harvest_final, CTF_Well, SD_Doomsday, CTF_Turbine, KOTH_Nucleus, PL_Goldrush, CTF_Doublecross, and CP_Dustbowl. Other maps, such as PL_Badwater, are currently complete and playable, however, they have noticable visual bugs and are not currently included in the mod. More information on map development can be found on the mod's map development tracking sheet.

Gamemodes

The developers are working on implementing a Team Deathmatch (TDM) gamemode. TDM will natively support Half-Life 2: Deathmatch maps.
