Beta Fortress (Not to be confused with Beta Fortress 2) is a TF2 Source Mod that aims to re-imagine the beta version of the game during late 2006-2007, heavily inspired by the early illustrative rendering phase of TF2 beta.
Development
How it all started Twilight Bob (Unnamed/Spy Crab) saw a message on a channel in the Pre-Fortress 2 discord in which MrMalos said "Anyone wanna make a mod using pf2 0.6 source code?" .
Beta Fortress used to be named Beta Fortress 2 before the team knew the existence of Beta Fortress 2. After discovering it the team decided to rename it to Beta Fortress.
The original goal of the project wasn't as clear back then. The team consisted of just two people back then, so the team just added anything beta-related from TF2.
Eventually, due to creative restrictions, Twilight Bob, bvvth556 and PracticeMedicine decided to part ways with MrMalos and hand the project to the Aridity Team. (Founded by PracticeMedicine)
