Eventually, due to a shift in priorities within the project (going from just a continuation of LFE to something more akin to a crossover PVP game) it was renamed to Fortress Connected.

Fortress Connected is a Team Fortress 2 sourcemod based on Lambda Fortress (CoaXion) lead by Vvis. Keeping the idea of co-op in alternate games as the TF2 mercenaries, Fortress Connected adds to this with support for games such as Left 4 Dead 1, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Black Mesa: Source, Entropy Zero 1 and 2, Counter-Strike: Source, and more. Along with these new supports Fortress Connected introduces new optional custom classes and full Mapbase support. (This version should be considered a completely different mod compared to the old version)

Gameplay
Custom Classes
This mod features the original nine Team Fortress 2 mercenary classes, alongside the following custom classes:

- The Renegade (Keeping the crossover idea, The Renegade is a citizen from the HL2 universe that stumbled his way across and joined forces with the Team Fortress 2 mercs)

Gamemodes
Fortress Connected supports all official live tf2 gamemodes (except for passtime in it's current state) and adds some custom modes such as:

- Co-op (for either RED or BLU team)

- Versus

- Hostage Rescue (based on Counter-Strike: Source)

- Bomb Defusal (based on Counter-Strike: Source)

- Team Deathmatch

Custom items
Like most mods, FC adds custom weapons:

- Hunter Chopper Cannon for the Heavy

- Team changing sapper for the Spy

- Combine sniper rifle for the Sniper

- TF2-themed Crowbar melee for All Classes

Supported Games/Mods (TODO: Split this into 2 different lists once more mods are officially supported)
Fortress Connected in current development supports most Mapbase based games/mods + the following games:

- Half-Life 2

- Half-Life 2: Episode 1 & 2

- Left 4 Dead 1 (Currently only the "No Mercy" campaign)

- Half-Life 2: Deathmatch (Currently uses the Team Deathmatch gamemode)

- Counter-Strike: Source

- Black Mesa: Source (HL2 Mod Version, Partial)

- Entropy Zero 1 & 2 (Both are partial)

- Day of Defeat: Source

New Features (TODO: FINISH THIS LIST! VERY INCOMPLETE!)
Along with new gamemodes Fortress Connected adds additional features such as:

- EDT System (Edit maps without modifying BSP files directly, Server sided)

- Save/Restore (Saving and loading your game like HL2 singleplayer)

- Full steam workshop support (Maps, Models, EDTs)

- Custom content mounter (Allows for easily loading any source game/mod with just a txt file)

Team Fortress 2: VR, Not to be confused with Virtual Fortress 2, is virtual reality total conversion mod being developed, on top of the new sdk, by DeliciousSalad, who took inspiration from Virtual Fortress 2 to make a full Six degrees of freedom (6DOF) VR Conversion. The mod is still very early in development with current focuses on converting all of the playable characters to be able to use their arms independently in VR and allowing all of the weapons to interact with the VR space (I,e Wrench, Knife, Melees, Etc). Main things that are implanted currently all standard hud elements, 5 of the 9 classes fully VR ready, "Voice chat" gestures, and Half-Life: Alyx styled weapon selection menu, seated and standing support.

DeliciousSalad has also stated "Would like to make it [the code] open source for another people to make forks with changes of or port it to their own mods", he has also stated he is interested in allowing non-vr and vr players to play together and sees "the appeal particularly for mvm" but the mod is VR only currently.
It is set in the 1980s during a Cold War between the two world-spanning giga-corporations RED and BLU, with industrial aesthetics similar to those of TF2's predecesor Invasion. The mod features a new set of characters to fit into the roles of every class with some differences in loadouts and balancing, along with grenades and an armor system similar to Half-Life 2's HEV.
Team Fortress 2 Vintage is a Team Fortress 2 Sourcemod based off of Team Fortress 2 Classic as a re-imagining of retail Team Fortress 2, focusing on being a museum to the game. To achieve this goal TF2V has implemented many convars focusing on changing the gameplay of server to mimic curtain eras of TF2 allowing for crazy customization of individual features on every server. By default, the mod comes with configs and mapcycles for replicating the eras of 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. The mod also allows for community configs like Highlander, Class wars, 6s, etc.
As of 3/4/2026, (after a 7/8 month hiatus) Highlorddio re-started development with a "Build Merger" that brought the TF-Base version of 3.6 and ported it automatically to the new SDK. Along with this new Github Actions have been put inplace to automatically build and release new beta versions of changes pushes to the repo that will not expire unlike the old system they were using. The Github actions now also automatically build for both Windows and Linux. Last recently development is an auto-updater has been added to always keep your local copy of vintage up to date with the repo. Highlorddio Also claimed while talking about the updates that "Not big enough to be a Steam release, unfortunately." Implying we could eventually get Team Fortress 2 Vintage on steam.
Director's Cut is a community-driven film-making tool built on top of the Source 2013 Multiplayer SDK. This tool aims to be an actively maintained spiritual successor to Source Filmmaker. Due to the Director's Cut being an an engine tool, any game or mod developed using Source 2013 Multiplayer (on the TF2 branch) may support Director's Cut without any additional code, with Open Fortress already being shown running in-tool. There are also plans for this tool to be publicly available on Steam one day.

Development
As of Jul 2, 2025 most/if not all of the various Director's Cut repositories were archived.
* Changed railgun damage 25->35
* Fixed a bug where the sniper rifle could not be unscoped during reload

08/28/2020
* Added flag based Attack/Defend
* There are probably more, but I have lost track

Spy Cloak Changes
* Cloak now lasts only 5 seconds
* Cloak recharges in 10 seconds
* Spy cannot cloak unless cloak meter is full
* If the spy was damaged in the last 2 seconds and cloaks, he will drop a ragdoll and show a fake kill feed event
* Cloaked spies no longer blink when hit
** This was done as a temporary measure while feigning is being figured out

* Updated first person viewmodels
* Viewmodels sway when conc'd
* Improved handheld concussion grenade jumping
* Mounted onto live TF2 allowing for the use of its models and textures
* Sentry guns and dispensers explode violently when destroyed for any reason
* Headshots with the sniper rifle do 2x damage instead of 3x
* Reimplemented scout's caltrops

09/11/2020
Bugfixes
* (Hopefully) Fixed cubemaps on ctf_process
* Shovel damage reduced to 20 (was 35)
* You should no longer hear other players' grenade timers

Gameplay changes
* Changed medikit model back to bonesaw temporarily
* Medikit cures concussions and broken legs

2fort changes
* Changed main spawn doors to the old 2 way layout
* Replaced stairs to the basements with elevators
* Added bridge to courtyards
* Removed the roof from middle bridge

09/14/2020
Bugfixes
* Fixed players taking the a/d flag with them into spectator when idle
* Fixed incorrect sounds for the pipebomb launcher reload
* Ran a final compile on ctf_process (whoops)

Other updates
* Base afterburn damage reverted to 3 every 0.5 seconds (was 4)
* Increased push force demoman takes from explosive jumps

10/05/2020
Bugfixes
* Added a line of sight check to the flag to prevent picking it up through walls
* Fixed bug where enemies weren't getting the concussion effect
* Building animations are scaled to their new building times. As a consequence, dispensers look absolutely silly when deploying

Gameplay
* A/D flag is now highlighted
* Max FOV is now 130, but this will cause some culling issues
* Sniper must be standing still to begin charging the rifle
* Direct hits with the grenade launcher do a full 100 damage, similar to TF2
* Added dismantle command. Do dismantle <number> while close to the building dismantle it. I'll have a proper PDA for this later.

Maps
* In the spirit of Halloween ad_manor_event, a port of the TF2 map, has been temporarily added. This map lacks the pumpkins and boss.

Clanbattle mode
I have started an improved version of TFC's clanbattle mode. Right now, it only supports CTF. All this does at the moment is add round timers to CTF maps along with a preround time for teams to ready up. Teams switch after every round at the moment. I may do other modes later.

12/4/2020
General changes
* Unmounted from live TF2 as this was causing more problems than it was solving.
* Improved the napalm grenades. Now it spews a bunch of flame particles that set players on fire and deny areas for a brief period.
* Added new particle effects for concussion grenades and incendiary rockets.
* Changed spy cloak back to how it is done in TF2. Now uses cells from ammo pickups (not the discarded ones) to recharge.
* Improvements to clanbattle mode.
* Engineers now repair buildings to full health in a single swing if he has enough metal.
* Similar changes with ammo in sentry guns.
* Players can now see health and armor of enemy players (consistent with TFC)
* Added func_security brush entity and new announcer voicelines to go with it.

Notable Bugfixes
* Fixed invisibility material proxies on the spy's super shotgun and nailgun.
* Fixed bug where spy could throw grenades while invisible.
* Fixed some animation problems with first person viewmodels

Maps
* Removed ctf_process and ad_manor
* Added ctf_destroy, based on the TFC map destroy_lowgrens
* Added ctf_turbine
* Fixed an unintentional sightline on Dustbowl second stage

12/31/2020
* Discord rich presence (yay)
* A couple of random bugfixes

7/30/2021
Gameplay
* Added feigning for spy. The commands for this are feign and sfeign. This will cause the player to become a ragdoll, but can still take damage. Naturally this will be buggy and can result in getting stuck in some places. Regular cloaking has been removed.

* Added the detpack, a buildable timed explosive for the demoman. It can be set to 5, 20, and 50 seconds. Use the detpack to create a very large explosion that can open certain areas and send enemies into orbit. Scouts can defuse the detpack by touching it.

* Sniper rifle's base damage has been increased to 75 and fully charged shots do 225.

Espionage is a round‑based gamemode, Rounds start with a five‑minute timer and a short freeze at round start so Agents can learn their spawn wildcard. Each BLU kill adds one minute to the round timer. Each completed Red objective removes 15 seconds from the timer. When the clock reaches zero, Red wins and dead players respawn as Mercenaries for a short humiliation round.
The Espionage Project, also referred to as TEP, was a planned Team Fortress 2 sourcemod, being developed by CoaXioN, based around a cut Team Fortress 2 Classified gamemode, called Espionage. The primary planned gamemode focuses around Tactical, Stealthy, and Deceptive gameplay, pitting player against player by completing objectives and getting stealth kills to win. The mod planned to include multiple new characters/classes, most being brought over from the original gamemode and a new class.

As of 12/19/25, The Espionage Project is no-longer being developed as a sourcemod due to not being able to find any programmers to assist with the project. The project itself has pivoted into an animated short, which will be produced in Blender, being lead by Menoly & Aoki.
